Stella Maarsman (1959) started painting seriously in her late twenties, attended art academy and specialized in meta realistic oil paintings, using the layered glazing techniques of the old Dutch masters.
Her work was characterized by meticulous detail and the use of heavily contrasting light and dark shades. Recently she has been experimenting with abstract art and paintings in acrylic on canvas.
She also has a passion for music and is an accomplished jazz oriented singer.
Stella also paints portraits to order – in pastel, oil or acrylic – and does mural projects. Feel free to contact her for portrait or mural orders via email. She now resides in Holland and Spain where she hopes to devote much more time to painting, music and teaching.
